Elizabeth's Six Month Check up

We have a growing baby on our hands! Elizabeth now weighs in at exactly 17 lbs. and is 26 inches long. She is in between the 50th and 75th percentile for everything. She didn't even cry when they gave her the shots today. What a big girl!

Trey only has 2 more basketball games left...he is so much fun to watch because he is so into it. Next sport he will play is undecided......but he really wants to play baseball, so we will see!

Laura's Visit

Because I am so much fun to be around, Laura came to visit us again!:) haha, just kidding. (Even though I would like to think I'm not a total drag to be around!) We had a great time hanging out, eating a lot--I introduced Laura to the greatest dessert pizza ever, playing Old Maid, playing the Wii, going to a 5 year old's birthday party, going to see Bride Wars, and finally going to a Japanese Steakhouse and getting the Hibachi experience....and believe me, it was an experience:). I can't give further details, but if you want them, call me!

Trey of course loved having Laura here again and showed off quite a bit to prove it. He showed Laura some of his best dance moves, which include a lot of the "worm" and semi break dancing. Elizabeth smiled everytime she looked at Laura and that was a lot...she couldn't keep her eyes off her! Laura kept saying, "I want a baby!" And I kept saying, "A couple few years my dear!" Overall it was a great visit! Thanks for coming Laura!

Baby news-Elizabeth is sitting up! She is almost 6 months (on friday). She tumbles over every now and then, so I still have pillows behind her to break her fall, but for the most part she is doing great! She has her 6 month checkup on Thursday, so I will update with her weight and height. Can't wait to see how big my girl is!! She is still in 3-6 month clothing, but I can tell some of it is getting snug. She is also getting more hair and sometimes it gets really curly, especially after a bath. Check out the new pictures!:)

Little Red Raider!

I had to post this adorable pictures of my little red raider in her new jump & go Nina gave her. She borrowed Trey's hat and has become a Texas Tech fan!:)

Today I went to my first MOPS meeting of the new year. Sometimes it's hard for me to actually get up and get going and of course get Elizabeth ready to go, but I always end up glad I went. It is good fellowship with other young moms and it gives me a break from the usual routine. Today a woman named Janice, who is in her 80's, gave a talk that I thought was worth mentioning. Janice said that over the years she has asked God for many things. He has always answered her prayers, just not always in the way she wanted them answered. It reminded me that our ways are not always His ways. I pray for many things and ask for many things. When I get them, I am always like "wow, prayer works!" And sometimes when my prayers are not answered (the way I want them to be), I get discouraged and am tempted to incorrectly think God did not hear or God did not answer my prayers. SO FAR FROM THE TRUTH! I need to remember that God hears me ALL the time, and He answers my prayers ALL the time......Just in His own perfect way. This year I am praying for some very specific things for my husband....But without giving the specific, overall I want Bobby to be happy....I know that seems very simple. But I want Bobby to be happy in his job, happy as my husband, happy as a father. I want Bobby to know he is loved and that he is ABLE to do so much that others don't always give him the credit for. I'm going to say this at the risk of being mooshy (and I am so NOT mooshy:), but God really blessed me when He gave me Bobby. Bobby is smart, loving, kind, and very patient with his aggravating wife! Of course sometimes he drives me crazy, what husband doesn't, but overall I know how absolutely lucky I am to have him. I know that God will bless Bobby and lead Bobby down the path he wants for him. I am going to pray what I want for him and what I know he wants for himself, and trust God to answer it in the way that is HIS. God's way is the only way we want for our lives, even though sometimes it may disappoint us at first, in the end we know it's best! I hope everyone will pray for our family and that exciting changes will be in our future! Love ya'll!!

Here are some pictures of our trip home. We had a great time and were able to see lots of extended family. I can't wait for Lindsay and Mandy to have their babies so Elizabeth will have some cousins real close to her age! Just like Mandy said, it is nice watching our own kids play and have fun just like we used to do when we were that age. We had the best Cousin's Club ever.:) Let's get all the babies some jellies this summer:)

I love my wife

You've always been my best friend.

You've always been there to stick up for me when others do not.

You've always stuck with me thru Columbia, Lubbock, New Orleans.

You've always been a loving mother, even if you've been sensitive, I'd take you raising my kids over anyone else.

You've always communicated well, I know when you are happy, sad, frustrated, upset, excited, lost, or anything in between.

You've always had concern for what's going on in my life, no matter how big or small.

You've always loved me in ways I don't always appreciate.

Although I don't always say it, I appreciate what you do. It means more to me now when I am at home by myself! I have someone to talk to about my day, I have someone to care about what I do, I have someone who can at least throw a frozen pizza in the oven so that if I get home late I can eat! When you're not around, it's not a relief, it's not a blessing. What I fail to do is what I myself get frustrated about: show appreciation for those who are taking care of you. Well, I appreciate it.

I am no longer a 6th grader, but I still have the same passion for you as when I was that age. Unfortunately, I don't always show it! I hope the New Year brings us further in our relationship than any year previous and I hope that we continue to be blessed.

Love you babe.
